Abyssal Descent

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 4, 2026 · Last updated: September 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Abyssal Descent (the "Game", "we", "us") handles information when you download and play the Game on Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple App Store). We built Abyssal Descent to be playable without an account — most of your progress stays on your device. This policy describes the limited data collected through third-party services embedded in the Game (advertising and in-app purchases) and your choices regarding that data.

By downloading, installing, or using Abyssal Descent, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Abyssal Descent does not require you to create an account, and we do not directly ask you for your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.

Some information is collected automatically through third-party SDKs embedded in the Game (advertising and payment processing), described in detail in the sections below. This may include:

We do not collect your contacts, photos, camera/microphone data, precise GPS location, or health data. The Game does not have chat or social features that would collect user-generated content.

2. Information Stored Only On Your Device

Your gameplay progress — character level, experience, gold, inventory, equipment, forge/crafting progress, and settings — is saved locally on your device using local storage (Hive). This data:

3. Third-Party Services We Use

Abyssal Descent integrates the following third-party SDKs. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy, linked below:

ServicePurposeData InvolvedProvider Policy
Google AdMob Displaying in-game advertisements (including rewarded video ads for optional in-game rewards) Advertising ID, IP address, device info, ad interaction data policies.google.com/privacy
Google Play Billing / In-App Purchase Processing purchases of in-game currency ("Ruby") Purchase/transaction records (handled by Google Play or Apple; we do not receive or store payment card details) Google / Apple
Apple In-App Purchase Processing purchases on iOS devices Purchase/transaction records managed entirely by Apple apple.com/legal/privacy

We do not control how these third parties process data beyond the configuration we set (e.g., ad frequency, purchase items). Please review each provider's policy for details on their own data practices.

4. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS, the Game may show Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before requesting permission to use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized ads. You can allow or deny this request at any time; denying it does not prevent you from playing the Game or seeing ads — you will simply see non-personalized ads instead. You can change your choice later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. In-App Purchases

Abyssal Descent offers optional in-app purchases of in-game currency ("Ruby"). All payments are processed directly by Google Play or the Apple App Store — we never see or store your payment card, bank, or billing account details. After a purchase, the app verifies the transaction using the store's public purchase verification mechanism (performed locally on your device) before crediting the in-game currency to your local save file. No purchase data is transmitted to any server we operate.

6. How Information Is Used

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use any collected data to build advertising profiles beyond what the AdMob SDK performs under Google's own policies.

7. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not share personal information with third parties except:

8. Data Retention & Deletion

9. Children's Privacy

Abyssal Descent is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Game does not use Google's "Ads for Families" / child-directed treatment. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email below so we can address it. Advertising delivered through AdMob is configured to treat traffic as intended for a general (not exclusively child) audience.

10. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location (e.g., EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of information for cross-context advertising. Since we store your gameplay data locally and do not maintain user accounts, most requests can be satisfied by:

11. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect information processed in connection with the Game, including a local integrity check on save data to deter tampering. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Game's features, legal requirements, or third-party services. Changes take effect when this page is updated, and the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Game after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
